Re: Touch Pro / WM6 file system caching and performance discussion
not sure why I never saw this sooner, I ran into it looking for help from google with a usb drive question... lol go figure...
anyway, this really helped close some gaps in my understanding of the pagepool (surprisingly under-documented)
so if I understand correctly, does the following make sense?
SD diskcache >= size of average user file accessed (ie. ever-changing mp3 files to prevent glitching during playback &or avoid power management ratcheting)
ReplStoreCacheSize ~= LoaderPoolTarget
is there a tool we could use to see current OID's and do some comparason after hard-reset and toggle ReplStoreDoImmaculate
does CacheFilt come into to play with this as well??? ( default = 0 = auto )
FilePoolTarget >= LoaderPoolTarget + avg total of other cachesize's
obviously an intricate formula could/should be worked out, but hey, we gotta start somewhere.
since the thread is almost a year old, do any of the newer pagepool tools work for both pools? I guess I'm assuming the Loader Pool is set at build or flash, and likely setting to auto (0) is probably best.
sleepy time now for a few, but I just realized I think I set my pagepool to dynamic, I'll have to look into that..
