After researching this further, it appears we may be using the wrong terminology. A dead pixel is actually a black spot on the screen whereas a stuck pixel is a white spot or some other color. Check out the article below for further details and some tips on how to possibly fix it:

It might be good to put the screen protector on and try the techniques he's suggesting.
