there are some batch files around ( have a look in the 6.5 thread) but here is what works for me best, what i do is for example once i have downloaded a new SYS and XIP i make the ppck kitchen packages up and then extract SYS_23XXX_Common to a folder in root directory of c:\ ( im lazy i call folder SYS ) , I then get a comand prompt by hitting windows key + r , type cmd, type cd.. , type cd.. should be in C:\ , type cd SYS , should be in c:\sys then type attrib -r -s -h /S /D press enter.
