Yeah, that makes sense that they wouldn't do it if someone just called them up and sais "hey, i have this phone..." as our dear friend fleshe obviously did.

HOWEVER, if he turned it in at a Sprint store - as I and others have suggested he should - then Sprint would be in posession of the phone and there would be no issue of someone other than the rightful owner having it. They could not only return it to the rightful owner, but they could UN-blacklist it as well - and I'd be willing to bet that is exactly what they would do. Unless they had already given the rightful owner a replacement - in which case they could and probably would UN-blacklist it and refurb it to have on hand as a replacement for someone else.

Just like I said before.
