Smile What's your FAVORITE Instant Messenger for the 6800/Mogul/Titan...?

I know we've covered many different instant messenger applications on different devices,
but now I'm curious to what everyone is using, specifically on the 6800/Mogul/Titan?
  1. What is your FAVORITE Instant Messenger...?
  2. What makes it your favorite...?
  3. What other messengers did you try, and what did you like/dislike...?

Looking forward to some great responses on this subject.
Thanks!

i use aim 2.0, b/c it's the only AIM app i know of, and it works, and all I use is aim, so that's why. didn't try out any others, and i WISH i had that palm IM app, but unfortunately, that isn't out for mogul.

I personally prefer palringo after trying most others.
I tried IM+, Agile and a slew of others. I most like palringo because it is reliable, serves multiple types of clients (yahoo, msn, aim etc) and best of all it's currently free (for how long I am not sure)

that is my 2 cents after fighting many different clients and finding one that hasn't made me want to get rid of it yet.

I'll have to check that out.
I have also tried IM+, Agile and a couple others.

AGILE MESSENGER:
I find myself extremely disappointed with the applications I've tried so far.
When I had a Nokia 60 series phone, Agile messenger was great. The voice service worked,
and I had very few problems with it. However, on the Pocket PC, I'm not a fan of Agile messenger at all.
Very ugly interface, had many issues with the different features.

IM+:
I was hoping I'd like this application because there are many nice features and support for multiple clients.
However, again I found the interface very basic, and buggy.

SO WHAT AM I SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR?:
I have a large messenger list of contacts. I use AIM, Y!, MSN and GChat. In each messenger,
I have set up groups like friends, co-workers, family, etc. When I open an instant messenger client
on my Pocket PC, I want there to be only ONE instance of each group, showing all the ONLINE
contacts below that group from the different clients. So for example, if my mom is on Y!,
and my dad is on MSN, and my bro is on AIM, I'd only know the difference by the icon next to them,
they'd still be in the same "group".

Example:
Family-
"Y! Icon" mom (online)
"MSN Icon" dad (online)
"AIM Icon" brother (online)

Is this really too much to ask for...? Does anyone that works for these software companies
have any experience in designing user interfaces and testing it with beta testers and actually
USING the feedback from the beta testers (rather than using beta testing to just promote their upcoming product)?

I just want a good instant messenger experience with my Mogul.
It's text chat people - we should be beyond this now!

Just my 2 cents worth I guess.

my wife and i swear by Palringo the PTT feature saves us on minutes just as much as the IM aspect saves on text messages. To us its indespensable.

Slick

Free (for now)
Works pretty good, some bugs but not a big deal. Not too fond of the cleartype, but as I said it works and doesn't freeze on me when others have.

I also enjoyed Agile, it was rock solid with great features, but IMO the price is a little too high for an IM app.

palringo all the way, iv been using it for months. its been free for awhile now and it just works with all the major IM providers... only complaint is once u close a message screen you lose the conversation... but its better than paying for something similar. I hope it remains free forever....

*edit* aug 25, 2009 and palringo is still the best, but there are other options now like nimbuzz, which is a lil slow.. but it has some nice features like skype, gizmodo, and yahoo voice support. like you can talk to ur yahoo friends with voice for free which is pretty cool.. but i don't know anyone who actually likes to talk over yahoo....

The OZ that comes with the sprint touch pro is good because it allows you to stay logged in even if the program is closed to save battery. then as soon as you receive a im the program automatically opens to receive the im. I guess this is called push IM and as far as I know its the only program that does this for windows mobile.. I mean IM+ clams to do this...but its not the same. IM+ can have ur IM's pushed to a email address, it doesn't push it back directly to your phone and open the program when its closed.
