there is a company starting a Private Beta for a new Server based Browser that looks promising. It requires a WM5 of WM6 smartphone and a US Carrier to sign up.

Alright, signed up, I'll give it a try. Can't hurt while we wait for something else that's decent (Opera 4 crashes and is annoying in java, picsel doesn't seem to be designed very well, and MS is planning on developing deepfish forever and never releasing it).
|
I signed up too. Looks a lot like deepfish based on the video they have up. The zoom feature looks a little difficult to use... hopefully exclusive use of the stylus is avoided, similar to how opera mini does it.

New Web Browser coming soon...
SKYFIRE
Hey whats up guys I just wanted to share this with you since ive gotten a lot of great things from here and a lot of help. I was reading an article on http://www.phonescoop.com/ that Skyfire is making beta web browser. Im currently using miniOpera which i do like no complaints, but this new web browser can interact with any web site using any web technology, and it fully supports Flash, Ajax, Java and other web technologies. It is similar to Palm's Blazer browser, it uses a proxy to format web pages, but it works far faster and renders full web pages as they appear on the desktop. Right now you can only sign up for the BETA but its worth giving it a try they havent't said when they are going to realese it, but here is the website if you want to sing up http://www.skyfire.com/. By the way here is a youtube video on the skyfire beta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mWUoxiLZFc |

|

|
Definitely looks very interesting.
This from their site: What you need to participate A U.S. mobile phone number. A mobile phone subscriber data plan with a mobile phone service provider (an unlimited data plan is recommended). A mobile phone running Windows Mobile 5 or 6, both touchscreen and non-touchscreen phones are supported. Phones we support Skyfire will initially run on Windows Mobile 5 or 6 mobile phones in the United States. If you do not know what mobile phone platform you have, visit the Microsoft Windows Mobile phone directory to find out if yours is a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device. The initial beta release will support only Windows Mobile phones with full keyboards (QWERTY). If your Windows Mobile phone doesn’t have a full keyboard, please continue to sign up for the beta and we’ll let you know when it’s supported. Soon we will support the Symbian platform. Other platforms and geographies are on the roadmap, too. late, Coz |

Skyfire browser for Windows Mobile is game changing, does Flash
check this out, it looks great finally the iphon will have a run for its money
The Skyfire browser is set to finally bring PC-like browsing to your Windows Mobile device with crazy speeds and support for all manner of embedded content. Sure, there are ways to get Youtube and other mobile video content through proxy sites that convert on the go or with other 3rd-party applications, but this puppy does it all in one sweet and free package. Facebook and Myspace pages load up in no time, video plays in the browser, and all of this is accomplished with some server side magic on the part of the Skyfire server but is completely transparent to the user. All flavors of Windows Mobile -- 5 and 6 for both touchscreen and not -- are supported with the roadmap hinting at Symbian support in the near future. Sounds too good to be true? It is, and you don't have to just take our word for it, follow the read link to get signed up for the beta, this is something that just cannot be missed. check the video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mWUoxiLZFc |
Signed up and waiting...
Not that I want to start a speculation debate but I personally wonder what the memory footprint will look like based upon that kind of performance. |
wow looks promising... would love to see a feature to make flash (youtube) fullscreen...

Doesn't anyone else feel a bit reserved about giving them your email and mobile number? I smell marketing, advertising and spam afoot.
|
How Secure?
I’m guessing that everyone knows that when you enter a request it goes to their server then their server loads the site and then sends it to you. They can track ever site you go.

I signed up too but...........
