Keyboard backlit always on hack?

Is there a registry hack to always set my keyboard backlight on when I have the keyboard slit out? I use HTC 6 tab home screen and everytime I change the LCD backlight to the lowest setting on HTC home it turns off the keyboard backlight. Only the other 3 settings turns the keyboard on. I tried disabling the auto sensor but did not help. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for the same registry hack - been trying myself for three months!

I found this by accident...

If you go to:

HKCU/ControlPanel/Backlight/QKeyLedTimeout

you can change it to how many seconds you want it to stay on for. It's defualt is 10 secs. Change it then soft reet (I had to). Don't know how to amke it stay on all the time though. Put it to a high number though and it should do the trick.

It would be helpful to know what devices you all have.

I have a 6800. The registry hack mentioned only works if the KB light is already on. The problem is when I have my screen to the dimmest setting in HTC home setting the KB doesn't light up so I dont think this will work for me. Thanks though.

you're talking about the slideout keyboard right? All you have to do is hit a button (any button on the keyboard) and the backlight for the keyboard comes on, then it will say on for however long you set it for. if you want the light on, why would you put it all the way down?

edit: just tryied it, my keyboard lights up on the dimmest setting you can see. If I turn my backlight completely off (whish I don't know why you would want to, can't see it) then it turns off..

another edit: I just reread your first post again. I'm not sure what the setting you are talking about is ( only 4 settings of backlight, probably not on my 6700) so that's probably why this is opposite of yours.

I use the lowest setting out of the 4 when I'm out at the club or at night when my lights are already off and I'm able to see the screen just fine. I find the 2nd setting already too bright.
