saving reg edit
When I change the registry with a program like Kilmist Reg Editor, when I exit the program are the changes automatically saved.
More importantly do these changes take effect immediatly or do I have to do something like a hard reset?

Its best to wait a few seconds after changing the reg, then perform a soft reset. I've found that if you don't wait a couple of seconds before reseting, the reg will revert back to how it was before. Also, the changes will not take place until after the soft reset.

Correct....
hard reset = factory defaults although you could create a cab that could implement all your wanted registry hacks and run it after a hard install. I dont know how to do this but Im sure with a little searching and a couple questions it could be done. |
