On my set (HTC Touch 3G) the parameters is at
HKLM\COMM\TNETW12511\PARM\dot11SupportedRateMaskG
and dot11SupportedRateMaskG is already = 8
So I suppose that I am already in "g mode".

I do not take credit for the creation of this.. I merely happened to find this at the site linked above and thought to post it here..

Since there's been a lot of contraversy over the affect of this CAB, I'd like to test it out for myself. However before I do, I would like to know if uninstalling the CAB will revert my Touch Pro back to the settings it had prior to the installation?

Also, for what it's worth, my TP does not have the registry entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\TNETWLN1\PARMS", so I'm hoping this CAB will can help out somewhat.

how about on a verizon XV6800? i dont have any dot11SupportedRateMaskG in the registry at all and even with a back up I dont want to screw anything up. thanks

It will resort back to before if you uninstall it.. I did so.. If you don't have the registry line, it will create it...
