Internet Connection Sharing
 

To All Sprint Users (dunno if this applies to other phone providers),

For all those who use Internet Connection Sharing to connect to the internet on their PC thru their phone like I do; then you will run into a problem connecting if the new ROM (WM6.1) is installed. The new ROM for Internet Connection Sharing forces you to connect to "Phone As Modem" and does not give you the option to choose to connect to "Sprint PCS". It will give an "Error Code 67" or something. Don't call Sprint tech support as this is by design.

You will need to go into the registry to resolve this issue. But edit the registry with extreme caution and at your own risk! Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Comm>ConnectionSharing. There should be a folder I believe called "ForceConnection". You will want to delete this folder. Once you delete this. Perform a soft reset of the phone.

Now go to Internet Connection Sharing and you should now have the option to choose your "Network Connection". With any luck, you'll be able to connect to the internet on your laptop or PC via your phone.
