Camera shutter sound disabling

Hi. I can't find a menu option to turn off the very loud shutter sound on my WM6 HTC Touch.

I've changed the following registry keys without effect:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Software HTC Camera
Captparam Volume from 5 to 0 (and also 1)
General DisableShutterSound from 0 to 1

As an aside, is it possible to speed up the taking of a photo. I read another registry fix involving changing DelayTime from 10 to 3, but I have CapKeyDelayTime set to 1500, and am hesitant to change before knowing what that is.

Thanks

Edited to add, this is driving me bananas.

I've also followed the advice to:

Change the Source of the Snap Sound:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Common
String Value: SourceOfSnapSound
Value: \Windows\Snap.wav

But I don't have a Snap.wav in the windows folder (even choosing Show All Files). I do have a ShutterSound.wav, but this is different from the actual shutter sound.

I've pointed the value to an innocuous alternative .wav, but it still sounds out with its original 'shipping canal lock gate closing' sound. Gah!

Now, now, no trying to secretly snap pics under the changing room door at Walmart ;) I've heard that manufacturers are trying to make it very difficult to remove that sound due to complaints about people secretly snapping pics in private places like locker rooms and such.

Interesting. Will try to turn mine off and see what happens.

Shutter sound UPDATE:

Note to all...I was walking around with my bluetooth headset on hanging around my neck and with NO MUSIC PLAYING OR ANY RADIO ON AT ALL...but with the bluetooth headset "connected" to the phone...decided to take a picture...low and behold...no sound. No click! You could hear it in the speakers of the headset, but not outside of it! FINALLY...no NOISE WHEN PICS ARE TAKEN!!!! :):):)
Test this yourself...
1. Turn on Bluetooth
2. Attach a Bluetooth headset to your phone...connect it
3. Try to take a picture
4. Whoala! No click noise!!
...mind you...it's not full proof...but at least it works. I always have my bluetooth headset with me so it's not an issue for me. This isn't a fix, but a workaround. Maybe someone smarter than me can exploit this and figure out a fix.
Let me know if it works for ya!

It must be certain phones that don't allow it to turn off, because I have it disabled on my HTC Mogul.

Create a silent.wav file and overwrite \windows\shutter.wav with resco explorer.

check this out if you have a Touch:

It DOES work when taking pictures, but if you try to record a movie, you will get a beep when the movie starts and stops, so it's not totally effective.
