Alltel PPC-6800 with WM6

It seems that the Alltel version of this phone has a way different registry than what the majority of you guys are using. I am going through looking for HKLM and HKCU and what not....don't seem to see anything of the sort. Am I looking in the wrong place? I feel like i have searched through every inch of the registry. Or is the Alltel version just set up differently and I am screwed?

On that note...all I want to do with the registry is speed up the switch from portrait to landscape and vice versa..a LOT because the lag is ridiculous.

Can anybody help me out?

HKLM = HK Local Machine
HKCU = HK Current User

Does that help?

The speed of the screen orientation change has nothing to do with the registry, it is all a re-draw issue. The more apps you have open, the longer it'll take.

The more memory you have available, the faster it will switch.

hmm.

Speed up switching between Portrait & Landscape Modes
HKLM\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\
Change limit from 8192 to 16384
Faster but it will use more memory

i only ask because i saw that on another website...which i was linked to from here i believe.

but
HKLM = HK Local Machine
HKCU = HK Current User

still doesn't help..thanks though

Uhmm that reg entry probably depends on the amount of memory free to do the re-draw anyway, it may allow the device to use more memory for the re-draw.

Going back to the actual registry question...

HKLM = HKEY_Local_Machine\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\

HKCU = HKEY_Current_User\<insert target directory here>

Does that help? You should be able to see those directories with any registry editor, I know I just did with Resco Explorer.

Keep in mind that those HKCU and HKLM are going to be the root dir.s of the registry... So you will always start with a screen showing them if your in the root directory of the registry.
