ICS doesn't work with WIFI?

trying to use ICS on TP2 running Mighty ROM...
it works fine tethering to my laptop with the TP2 connected to Sprint 3G, but doesn't work if the TP2's connection to the Internet is WIFI -- ICS refuses to connect.

I presume this is a limitation of ICS... is there a workaround? another app for WIFI tethering? does pdaNet have the same problem?

May I ask why you need to tether to a laptop if WI-FI is available?

Actually I'm asking for a friend... I believe his situation is that the laptop doesn't have Wifi... or it could be his desktop that doesn't have WiFi. I agree that it might make better sense to get a WiFi card or stick for the laptop or desktop, but in principle, shouldn't a ICS-like app be possible? I was fully expecting that ICS should work in this situation... I guess it doesn't like double NAT or...

WMWifiRouter can do it. Not sure if the free version could do it though.

OK, would that be WiFi->WM->USB->PC ?
or some other kind of connection between the WM device and the PC ?
all WiFi (bridge?)
