NEW opera mini beta as default brower (no java needed)

Ok the new opera mini browser is out. Just released March 4th. This time its a native winmo app that DOESNT require java to run. Therefore all the workarounds with mortscript and javascript to make opera mini the default browser will no longer be needed. Theres only one problem. When installing opera mini it doesnt ask you if you would like to set it as your default brower like opera mobile does. There is no option in the settings to do this either. Ive been searching google for 2 days. No answer. Just old links detailing how to set it up as default through altering jbed java. No that a java emulator isnt needed to run opera mini how do i set it as default??????????

Re: NEW opera mini beta as default brower (no java needed)

On my Diamond OperaMini runs as default browser with a little reg-tweak:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\ EFBROWSER]
"0"="Opera Browser"
"1"="\Program Files\Opera Mini 5\OperaMini5-WM-armv4i.exe\"
"2"=1
"3"=0

Re: NEW opera mini beta as default brower (no java needed)

Thanks but the first link leads me nowhere useful for my question. The second link leads to a discussion of people having the same issue. None with a solution yet. Guess i gotta wait till the next beta.. maybe opera will incorporate a "make default" option =)

Question Re: NEW opera mini beta as default brower (no java needed)

I have the same problem with Opera Mobile 10 beta 3. Though IE is my default browser. It also doesn't add itself to the programs menu (I had to copy the shortcut from the Start Menu folder).

easy solution............just use advanced config 3.3 and set it as your default browser where it asks you what you would like to set your default browser as
