Mobile 6.1 Notes Program Won't Open on HTC Touch Pro

Alright, I was screwing around with my memory card on my phone & deleted some stuff I 'thought' I didn't need. Now my notes program on my phone won't open at all. I can't figure out what I deleted that I shouldn't have but I can't seem to recover it either. I copied a note from the backup on my pc to the phone to see if it could open that but the phone says it doesn't recognize the .pwi file.

Do I HAVE to do a hard reset to get this back in working order or is there a way to fix the 'notes' program? I just got this phone 2 days ago & just about had it exactly how I wanted it and dread having to redo everything....???? Help!!!!
