Need help please!!!

:?: Ok i was sitting here watchin a friend of mine unlock her t-mobile touch pro 2, she performed task29 and entered bootloader mode. When trying to flash a new rom from bootloader mode it gave her an error message to check the update utility and now we do not know what to do... We followed all instructions to unlock and flash a gsm touch pro 2 but something is wrong...
I know i may be in the wrong forum but someone who may know what to do please help!!!! :?:

EDIT: I made sure not to use a CDMA ROM on this GSM phone and we attempted more than one ROM. The ROMs we tried were the GSM version fo the Energy ROM, Firestorm and a ROM called Faria... All gave the same error

Make sure she has a rom from this section http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=99

After that the original download could be corrupt so download it again. If that doesn't work use a different update utility. Download a different rom and just delete the .nbh file on the rom you plan on NOT using. Then just copy and paste the .nbh she plans on using to that folder and try to flash the rom then.

We downloaded the file over again and retried the flash and received the same error. When I opened the folder for the Custom ROM we were attempting there were only 2 files, an .nbh file and a .exe file. When I flashed my CDMA to a custom ROM there were several files (around 8 give or take a few). Could that be an issue?

yep give me a sec and I will grab one that works and post it for you

well take that exe file and right click on it. Then extract it and you will then see the nbh file as well as the update utility

ok I was wrong. I got the exe file for you to try. just put it in the same folder as the .nbh file and run it it should work

No problem, right now we are downloading a shipped ROM, someone said to extract that .exe and replace that .nbh with the .nbh from the ROM we were trying to flash and then run the rom update utility.

If this doesnt work, I am going to try your .exe file and I really appreciate you taking time to find that for us. If I could thank you more than once I WOULD!

Really? Maybe thats what caused our issue in the first place because we didnt know there was a difference with the task29 but we eventually got the custom rom loaded and working. Thanks for that piece of info, thats worth looking into so this doesnt happen again
