Well, I've been running the CM9 Alpha on my Nexus S. I think the bar has been set a bit higher by the CM team.

I'm still trying to root it! I tried the autoroot here [ROOT][NCIQ][EG30/EG31/EK02] Auto root your existing stock ROM (w/o ODIN/ROM Flash) - xda-developers
but it doesnt work???????
