Yeah just flash it in recovery.

And I hate to nag, but do you have a link to that kernel, hopefully with instructions attached?

I appreciate it man, I really do.
Well once you install it you just have to load up clockwork and then flash the kernel in clockwork...fairly simple..

There are a few kernels to choose from that have the fix. LEt me get ya a list 1 sec.

Voodoo Sound Version 7:

Genocide kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961614

Voodoo Sound Version 6:

Vision Kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1012136

Twilight Kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=976197

--

You'll have to then download the voodoo sound app afterwards..

MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A CLOCKWORKMOD BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING THE KERNEL..the kernel should not wipe data..but just in case anything goes wrong you want to have it just in case.

Yup, and named it update.zip. I rebooted into recovery through Rom Manager and just got that error.

What version of recovery do you have? 2.5 or 3
You need 2.5 for the update since stock sammy uses rfs and amend scripts.

Edit: gTen your faster and better at this than me. lol

Re: I have no idea how to update to 2.2...

I have version 3.0.0.7 of Rom Manager.

What I did was I hit boot into recovery, then I'm in "Android system recovery <2e>, Samsung Recovery Utils - for BML -"

Is that enough info? I didn't know there were multiple recoveries.

This isn't letting me edit posts, weird. Anyway, just to be clear, Clockwork is Rom Manager, right?

I dont think he can be on DI18 and clockwork 3.0...as there was no kernels for it back then with EXT4..

Rom manager is just a UI app for clockworkmod..its version is unrelated to clockwork itself...

sounds like you booted into stock recovery, so either the file is not in place or what you downloaded is corrupt.

We're talking about clockworks recovery, which is separate from rom manager.

Blue text recovery = Stock
Green Text = CW 2.5
Orange Text = CW 3

Edit: I agree with gTen
