Question Screen pressure & heat

I am thinking of upgrading my HTC Touch Pro2 -> Epic.

I've gone through about 3 devices... due to the "rainbow banding" or grease oil slick looking rectangle on the display. I heard the oil slick is caused from heat and/or pressure.

Oddly enough... I never apply pressure on the screen... no cases... no screen protectors... (although - I do keep it in my pants pocket)

Has anyone had any issues with the Epic's display? I'm paranoid of upgrading, purchasing accessories... and having the same result with a new phone

Had my Epic 6 months with no issues. Still the best Sprint Android phone you can buy. Now with Froyo!

Re: Screen pressure & heat

I have a Vogue that looks like that. I don't think that this is even possible on the Epic because of the AMOLED screen.

Re: Screen pressure & heat

that wont happen with the epic, or any other capacitive screen, because they are a single sheet of glass. most resistive screens are multiple layers of plastic over the lcd. the top layer flexes to touch to the second layer and thats how it tells where you touched. the greasy spot is from lower layers sticking togeter or the plastic to the acual lcd. these layers will get that banding. the epics screen is a single piece of glass with a condutors built in or on it. the glass has no give.
