i saw your other thread with abc.com viewing issues and i tried that link on froyo/stock browser and i watched all kinds of shows there fine. as for froyo just pulled yes its well worth it and you dont need to be on bone stock di18 to update. im rooted on froyo with oc'd kernel and im loving it and roms are now just starting to roll out so its only gonna get better. hope that helps ya.

My phone gave me an error with OTA like Darren. Updated mine and my wife's manually and both are running great. So far no problems and battery life seems a little better...not much but just a little better.

In Portland, OR. One of my coworkers received the OTA update on 2/23. But I along with about 8 others who have the Epic, have yet to see the OTA. The wait is killing me.

Dont think your going to see it soon as they took the update down because of issues

Hmmmm... Any news on a re-release? Is it worth doing with the Samsung tool, or should I just wait?

ive read that they were gonna re-release in 2-3 days but might not be true especially with the history samsung has had with this phone.

I updated with the samsung tool and the update.zip they both seem the same but i think i had a better gps lock with the update.zip

Kind of thinking of going back to 2.1 until supernova releases his new rom

"Fixing the GPS no fix issue on the Samsung Epic 4g requires you to do a manufacturer's reset by obtaining the MSL code from Sprint. Once you get the MSL Code, remove the SD Card and Enter ##786# on the dialer keypad. You will see two options: View and Reset. Tap on the Reset option and you will get a prompt to enter the MSL code. At this point you will be asked if you want to do a manufacter's reset, enter yes. The phone will shut down and reset itself after a few seconds. Once the process is complete, the phone will go through a hands free activation. After the activation process, updates may be downloaded and installed. Now that all updates have been performed, you may check to see if your GPS is working by going to Google Maps. You should be able to lock in GPS signal in under 10 seconds. Thats it. Your GPS woes are over."

you can save the talk to sprint and get MSL yourself via:

you can substitute ConnectBot with Android Terminal if you already have this or use ADB shell if you prefer not to install anything at all..
