Re: Official Android 2.2 (Froyo) update emerges for Sprint's Epic 4G
In correct, lazydazed. I'm rooted/clockworked with the stock updated the DI18. When I try to run update.zip, it gives me an assert failed: apply_patch_something('/../../SprintZone', 'long ass hash#', 'another long ass hash#')
and does not update. I was just able to re-run the update.zip for Di18 and it installed fine, but when I run the new DK28, I get the above assert failed error and it doesn't work. |

Yes, as long as your stock with no apps removed the update.zip method is the way to go..you can flash it via stock recovery rather then clockwork...
If you are stock with apps removed and don't wont to restore them, you can flash with clockwork. Odin is for when you want to start from scratch or flashing modems.

Re: Official Android 2.2 (Froyo) update emerges for Sprint's Epic 4G
I have reinstalled all the apps and I still get the assert failed whether SprintZone is installed or not. Here is what I want to do: I want froyo without losing any of my data or installed apps.
ideas? |

i dont get why you dont just odin modem and flash a custom froyo and install whatever apps (sprint) you want or backup your sprint apps now with clockwork and odin/flash?
