do u have samsung drivers installed?
is ur ph in download mode?
disconnect all other usb device (printer, ext hard drive, etc...) before conn your ph to pc

well of coarse i have the drivers installed if not i wouldnt be able to even ODIN back to EC05 or even root the phone.. this only issue here is trying to flash this tar file EG22 right here... i have no issues trying flashing the older ROMS.. but thanks for your reply

well i hvae this one on hand Odin3 v1.81.exe. but i did tryed the one that came with this zip that i deleted wich i think it was like 1.85 i dont really remember... but the thing is i got that fail error. iam going to redownload this zip again and start all over.. but know knows whats next.

any reason you don't just flash EG22 and skip "odin"? i posted flashable build while ago.

now i forgot to mentioned iam on EC05 stock ROM. do i have to upgrade modems or anything before flashing this ROM?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I've read that EC05 modems drain batteries quickly on EG22 roms. For modems, check this:

I just odined the EG22 modem and it's running great with SRF1.1. I'm about to flash the rom from Darren's post and see how it goes. The flashable EG22 is missing the modem and busybox. I think Titanium BU will install bb when I start to restore apps. If not, I'll get it from the market.
I'm somemwhat new to all this but thanks to Darren, I've been learning.

It was easy. It was fun. I flashed EG22 and then flashed Chris's kernel. Avoided Ext4 conversion, figured that if I don't know what it is, I don't need it. So far so good. Phone is lightning fast. GPS ditto. Installing apps back on now.

Tars have modems included but flashable rom I posted needs modem which I posted and just odin modem. Best for you to just read my thread. Lol

2. Odin
3. Put victory_8G_100528.pit in pit
4. extract SPH-D700-EG22-8Gb-REL.tar.md5.7z, rename the extracted .md5 to just .tar
5. Put the SPH-D700-EG22-8Gb-REL.tar in PDA
6. Uncheck repartition and f. reset time
7. start

Hello,

When trying to extract the VICTORY8Gb_LOKE3_SMD.smd file I get an error that the password in incorrect, also I do not see the pit file to be placed in the odin app.

Please help.

victory_8G_100528.pit is the correct file to use in the pit section, not VICTORY8Gb_LOKE3_SMD.smd. You dont need to extract victory_8G_100528.pit as its not a zipped file anyways.
You need to extract the SPH-D700-EG22-8Gb-REL.tar.md5.7z file, then right click and rename it to just SPH-D700-EG22-8Gb-REL.tar.
Then
3. Put victory_8G_100528.pit in pit
5. Put the SPH-D700-EG22-8Gb-REL.tar in PDA
6. Uncheck repartition and f. reset time
7. start
