Looks as if Mozilla is promising a mobile version of Firefox by next year.

this is great news, they've had plenty of time to evaluate what is and isnt working with mobile web browsers. if they've been waiting for memory and processors to mature, then its prolly a good sign that they want to bring out a killer app of a browser!

Read somewhere (can't find the link right now) that the browser will be released after Firefox 3 is available.

It is far from complete and is extremely slow on windows mobile (even on my tytn II). Mobile firefox (or whatever name they will give it) will not be based on minimo but will probably derrive from its big brother firefox. |

yeah hopefully it will be better then mimo (aka, let's re-invent the entire GUI code from scratch and not use windows mobile APIs at all, yeah that should work well....)
not to say anything bad about firefox (after all, I'm using it now) but of all the things that FF is, "small and fast" are not two that come to mind. |
