[ROM 7ppc][3/31/10 v2.8.2][23554-Sense 2.5.2012]XDA_UC[OTA AutoUpdating]
![]() v2.2 Screenshots Youtube video showing some rom features in v2.2 7ppc Rom aims to be cutting edge on builds but not to the point of instability. I use the rom every day on my phone and do not like lock ups or crashes. I am a new chef with not very much experience and using Calkulin's Kitchen. Photos are mine of Seattle area you see in the rom. Always open to suggestions for the rom, but I also try and keep things lite and XDA_UC is a great tool to add all your apps/manila/reg/cer and all sorts of stuffs on first boot up. If you have comments/issues/questions/thoughts PLEASE post them in the thread, not via PM so others can help you and when we find fixes for things everyone can benefit from it and learn (custom roms may brick/kill your phone, make sure you flash back to a stock carrier rom if you need to bring your phone in for service) I take no responsibility for your phone or its issues. Rom's I build are for fun and to experiment with your phone and they are beta using beta builds of things. Steps to install: (some recommend flashing back to stock if your flashing custom rom to custom rom) 1) Make sure your phone is unlocked. 2) Download the latest beta build unzip package and run RomUpdateUtility.exe file and flash 3) On first run Select your carrier or skip option, phone will auto reboot 4) XDA_UC will launch when your phone is back on and run by itself. XDA_UC creation tool in rom also if your new to XDA_UC phone will auto reboot once again. 4.5) If you do not like the way I have customized the rom see my apps below, you can change things back to stock with a few clicks. 5) Your done, have some fun, relax its a beta things change! If you backup/restore with software you will most likely break things if your backup is from a different Windows or Manila build, I suggest you stop doing this and learn how easy it is to use XDA_UC to install things vs a backup program. 7ppc Rom has a OTA auto update system (see 7ppc Rom folder to change your update options) +Version methods: e.g. for: 7ppc.v.1.9.1 .1 <--- Major Release for WM builds. Update SD card or web, Hard Reset time. .9 <--- Sub Release. Update Package/Kitchen. Update SD card or web, Hard Reset time. .1 <--- Minor Release. Update via your phone with a cab. No reset needed. If you care to donate a few bucks its more than welcome: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...on_id=10029780 I have coded a bunch of Mortscripts in this app for ease and to be able to customize things. They are in the 7ppc folder OR you can access by holding your start icon for a few seconds.. 7ppc Clock Changer for Manila 2.5: Several clocks and clock backgrounds are in the rom for you to change the look. Shuts down SenseUI and changes your clock images 7ppc Manila Slider Editor: 4 slider and 4 icon options are included in the rom By default my icons do not auto hide after sliding in landscape, you can set that back to default Downloads for other icons, that will download and install for you Thanks to rtwood for letting me use his custom sliders, I included install for some in the slider edit tool, more here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=103805 7ppc Default Browser: Edit tool to make all the needed reg changes for what browser you want set as WM and Sense default 7ppc Apps Tool: Easy download and install for some useful freeware apps I think enhance the rom 7ppc Autoupdate System: Includes silent updates to rom, Checks for updates and if one is out there it sets your #1 program icon to the update icon in the 7ppc folder. OTA downloads for .cab and .zip to keep you current and never visit here if you don't want 7ppc UDA_UC Easy Creator: Helps you get started with XDA_UC by exporting the basic registry keys, db and manila files so things come back to normal for you after a hard reset. Backups up: Home manila images, program shortcuts, internet shortcuts, manila settings, 7ppc settings, owner data, your stocks database. This is not meant to be 100% of everything, its a basic tool, its a starting point for UC, look in your XDA_UC card after you use this tool to learn about .reg files it has dumped out. 7ppc Provisioning: Installs the needed cab for your carrier and gets other things for the rom set up. Also sets the reg strings for MMS needed for SenseUI for Sprint/Verizon. You can set up for auto mode by changing your HKLM\Software\7ppc\options in your registry then running the XDA_UC creator script or do your own: Code:

v2+
3/31/10 v2.9
+sys to 23554 - nice, fast, stable, and good battery life 3/11/10 v2.8.2 +fixed the cab ota download issue. YOU MUST run the cab 'temp7ppc.v.2.8.2.cab' from 'my phone' with file explorer to get up to v2.8.2 and get future updates to work via OTA. 3/10/10 v2.8.1 +added Opera Mini/Fennec/Dorothy to the default browser script. I really want everyone to try Opera Mini 5 as their default browser, I am loving it, its fast like loading chrome on a pc. 3/10/10 v 2.8 +wm 28232 +new manila 2.5.2012.1412.1 +cookiemonster 1.6.1 and editor +new arkswitch +cleanram 1.9.9 +normal games I usually do not include +RSS Hub 2.1.1.1107.02 -black dialer skin, does not work. +bg4all +including opera 9.70.35853.0 but leaving 10 as system default. +QuickGPS 2.0.1922.3429.05 old release notes: Code:
2/21/10 v2.7 +cookiemonster menu to adjust home tab setup, in 7ppc folder -bg4all - can not get to work with cookiemonster home, even the one from that thread... someone post a cab if you find a working one. +Opera 10b3 as default, opera 9.7 and 9.5 are in apps download but not cooked in. If you want your internet bookmark images to show you will need 9.5 or 9.7, or figure out how to restore them, should not be hard, I just never look. +WM 23529 - very stable for me in the past. +PP from 16 to 24 +facebook from x.14 to x.17 - v2.0 -ucweb browser, ava in apps program download also 2/17/10 v2.6.1 +album tab fix note: ota for this did not fix, attached incase it does this for others. not sure whats up with that. 2/16/10 v2.6 +update cleanram 1.9.4 -opera 10b3 - Can not cook in without errors, install from opera.com/mobile +opera 9.7 update +gmaps 4 +cookiemonsters 20/75 shortcuts +new sys 28230 +new manila 2.5.2012.1225, with ebooks, footprints and docs added back in +amazon mp3 2/8/10 v2.5 +28223 wm +manila 2.5.2011.3030 (no document tab on this one) +20 shortcuts (its a hair off on home screen at the bottom) +custom menu on hold start button, 3 control panels and the 7ppc custom scripts 2/2/10 v2.4.1 +10 regedits on battery savings +new facebook app update 1.1.0.14 1/31/10 v2.4 +using new 1.5rc kitchen from caulk +Ameba update +opera 9.7 update +w7 logo used here and there +28217 wm +change my original orange highlights to red to match some of the other manila +revamped the .zip download system again for flash updates and make the script chef customizable. will also move away from .exe full download's via the web and to .zip, should not be too hard for folks to run the .exe from the .zip, that's how most things are anyways, will allow for 1 upload from me that does ota and web updates. +Resco file explorer +pp set to 16. pp changer in d/l package if you want to tweak 1/24/10 v2.3 +sprint tv fixed and works well when you install it. +sprint tv to apps in 7ppc downloads +provisioning reads 7ppc.reg on SD card/XDA_UC. I did this mostly for my needs so I can flash and then walk away and the phone will finish all by it self with no user input, but you can preset the 7ppc options in there if you like. +fixed my clock background being 5 pixels off center (if you have your own in XDA_UC/manila it will get overridden) +fixed background image not loading in manila. I know the black was cool so I included 7 more background images and one is just black. +wifimonster to apps in 7ppc downloads +HD Tweak, not sure when that got excluded but should be in the rom +AMeBA Settings tool that someone on XDA made for AMeBA (controls Start and X hold and tap functions) ~looking at arkswitch again, was a bit unstable last time around, but would be a perfect match to AMeBA +MTP working for tab 13 added to 7ppc apps d/l +phoneservice back a version, made and received a bunch of test calls and no issues so I hope its a fix for ppl with incoming call issues. +fixed backup script, I misunderstood the XDA_UC only reads XDA_UC/manila/manila.reg not all reg files in there, so I move the quicklink backups to the main folder and the manila settings renamed to manila.reg +versioncheck script update, now uses a 3rd party open souce app for the .ruu big download that supports resume/pause and should not crash the phone for a 230~m download. 1/22/10 v2.2.1 +fixed backup script. However if you have a XDA_UC/Manila you need to delete and run script or rename to XDA_UC/manila without the cap. The script update also does backup for the Application/HTC directory as this has footprints/stockdb/imagedb and such. Pushing this out now as I plan v2.3 over the weekend and that will have to be a flash update/hard reset deal 1/17/10 v2.2 +16 home shortcuts -28014+28005 wm build does not seem to have all the battery issues +added manila home page images to backup script so clocks and things will come back after flash +one two clocks +XDA_UC edit to make it senseUI rather than TF3D compatible, NOTE that means sense will shut down during some installs now like it SHOULD +changed default clock and clock backgrounds +bttray back on startup as battery drain about 5ma now on 28005 +changed all my line one ' to # in all scripts, i think that's more compatible with older mortscript.exe +changed first autoupdate run from 24 to 2 hours, 2nd run will be at 24 hours or what you set to in options +edited the dirty rain fix image, the one on the forums was a little better but still looks bad so I took transparency down by 50% more. Living in Seattle I see that thing all the time and no window is that dirty or dark. -removed the other theme, i know lame, but changing the theme just messes everything up. Someday ill figure out why and how to use them right. the only software I have to edit/make does not make 6.5.x themes BUGS: =Cooked in background image 7ppc.jpg will not set. It maybe the new 16 icons edits, but no big deal just set one up, figured most folks change my image anyways =download and flash to SD did not work as my temp d/l was on the phone and not enough room, please d/l and flash via your computer and ill set this up to d/l to the SD for next time... NOTE: Pocketshield D/l in apps was drawing a HUGE amount of energy from my battery. Its a RC and seems to have some issues still. Suggest you get the Release off the pocketshield site instead. 1/15/10 v2.1.2 +Edits to XDAUC, its not silent anymore as doing things when its running is slow and messes with the installs. also does a reset when its done so start and control menus don't have broken overlays. +2 new clocks to clock script +got rid of double \\ bug in backup script +vvvm and some new browser to apps 1/13/10 v2.1.1 +Update script can download flash updates again so you can flash via SD. Using Zip files now so download package can be 60%ish smaller than before and should error out if not a good download. +clock script fix so it aborts properly if manila.exe will not exit for it. +finished backup script for XDA_UC simplicity. 1/12/10 v2.1 +diff phone canvas that is more stable +auto connect on my update scripts for data connections +UDA_UC creation script, creates reg files from your settings. only 7ppc ones for beta, will add manila and other soon +timeout on clock script when it hangs trying to shutdown manila +v1.4 keyboard remap http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240 + also has a program in control panel so you can remap keys. +link to BTTray on programs (you may want to copy to startup if you want it always on) +link to epst in tools +## dialer fixes To use bluetooth start the service by clicking the bttrayce icon in your start menu, this is not in /windows/startup on v2 as it hogs battery life, will put back to autostart when new driver out. +all the sub releases from 1.9+ -PHM Notepad +agile notes, way better notepad app -Qwerty Memory bar, hogging up battery for no reason -some other crap as i try and ween back down to a 200mb rom +PP to 32 from 24 +some reg edits to add some battery life -opera10 quick launcher service, seems to make no diff and eating up some battery. -windows live, added to app download program in 7ppc folder (new 1/11/10 version) +new d3d driver +ability to change auto update frequency and method 1/10/10 v1.9.3 +script update to updatecheck. On first run lets you set options: - Default, run every 24 hours and update your #1 icon if out of date - Silent, run every 24 hours and download and install any update cabs - None, don't check for updates at all - ??? any other options needed? +ucweb browser option on default browser script 1/10/10 v1.9.2 +Added apps download script to 7ppc folder for some apps I like and to lighten the size of future builds +Changed 2 of my custom clocks, labeled NEW +Changed slider edit to include some of the cool icons from rtwood +trans calendar background 1/8/10 v1.9.1 +default browser script update +pushed out as proof of concept for updates :) 1/3/10 v.1.9 +Script update to updatecheck. Re: [ROM] 11/11 - WWE 6.5.1 build 23506 - SenseUI 2.5.1 - UC
v1.9
Usage tips: -disable full screen weather animations, but changing to animated wallpaper, then pick album and pick a background or photo that is not animated -single X closes, hold X minimizes a program -Hold start button 3 seconds will open the task manager, task switcher -Access facebook photo albums via, albums then albums again then the F tab. -press and hold power for reset/shutdown options -sprint hard reset via power off, hold end and send, then hold power key, hold all 3 until reset screen. (wipes all data) -click top clock for notifications, click top start area (blank black area above your carrier) for settings menu. - adding new cities to the weather tab is very slow to search, its a 6mb database of all cities worldwide(thx to conflipper), just type the name and wait about 45 seconds and it will finish the search. -Lockscreen and all Locking, install the app you like. Suggest pocketshield in 7ppc folder, but use something or your backlight will use up a lot of battery. If you don't want to pay for pocketshield try s2u2 -7PPC Rom update utility runs every 24 hours and checks your version. If update is out there it changes your icon #1 on Manila Home to update icon. Press it to run update utility. If you are not ready to update yet just press it and hit no to update and your original icon is back. (option to stop checking every 24 hours in there also) Suggest if you get a full decimal off you update, e.g. 1.5 to 1.6 time to update, 1.5 to 1.5.1 you can wait if you like. Recommend setting up XDA_UC and doing every update! Code:
7ppc Clock Changer for Manila 2.5 - several clocks and clock backgrounds 7ppc Manila Slider Editor - 4 sliders and 4 icon options, disable landscape auto hide, downloads for other icons 7ppc Default Browser Edit tool 7ppc Apps tool, easy download and install for some useful apps 7ppc Autoupdate system, includes silent updates to rom 7ppc UDA_UC easy creator. Helps you get started with XDA_UC by exporting the basic registry keys, db and manila files so things come back to normal for you after a hard reset. 7ppc Provisioning with MMS setup for Manila MMS XDA Shutdown - press and hold power button to sleep/reboot/shutdown Opera 9.7&10b UCWEB browser Wifi router and Tethering HTC Addicts Cleanram AdobePDF Pocket Rar HTC Zip Swype Keyboard - cool and fast keyboard Java and Flash Gyrator2 - More options for phone rotation XDA_UC - See post 1 for UC info Voice Recorder Ameba - Press and hold startbutton for task manager. Press and hold X to minimize a program. Total Commander - Tweaks ReStart - Rearange Start menus TD2 Tools - Tweaks PHM Registry tool Bing 5 Facebook 1.1 Google Maps Myspace Office Mobile MSN Messenger Notepad Marketplace Quickgps Teeter Game NueBattery Tools QWERTY Memory bar - small grey bar under taskbar for memory usage Youtube Mp3 Trimmer Advanced Config FDC Task Manager personalizer Last edited by DavidMMorley; 01-24-2010 at 02:41 PM. |

Easy XDA_UC
use xda_uc tool in 7ppc folder now
to make a exchange email xml file. copy and paste this and make a .xml file and drop in XDA_UC on your SD card. Has 7pp.cc server settings, but just fill in the blanks and it will work, password is just plain text. Code:
<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="Sync">
<characteristic type="Connection">
<parm name="Server" value="7pp.cc"/>
<parm name="AllowSSLOption" value="1"/>
<parm name="User" value=" "/>
<parm name="Domain" value="7pp.cc"/>
<parm name="Password" value=" "/>
<parm name="SavePassword" value="1"/>
</characteristic>
<characteristic type="Settings">
<parm name="PeakStartTime" value="0800"/>
<parm name="PeakEndTime" value="1800"/>
<parm name="PeakFrequency" value="-1"/>
<parm name="BodyTruncation" value="-1"/>
<characteristic type="PeakDays">
<parm name="Sun" value="0"/>
<parm name="Mon" value="1"/>
<parm name="Tue" value="1"/>
<parm name="Wed" value="1"/>
<parm name="Thr" value="1"/>
<parm name="Fri" value="1"/>
<parm name="Sat" value="0"/>
</characteristic>
</characteristic>
<characteristic type="Mail">
<parm name="Enabled" value="1"/>
<parm name="MailBodyTruncation" value="-1"/>
<parm name="MailFileAttachments" value="-1"/>
</characteristic>
<characteristic type="Calendar">
<parm name="Enabled" value="1"/>
</characteristic>
<characteristic type="Contacts">
<parm name="Enabled" value="1"/>
</characteristic>
<characteristic type="Tasks">
<parm name="Enabled" value="1"/>
</characteristic>
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>
