Shipping weight of a new BB Tour

I was sent an email with the tracking info for my BB Tour but wasn't told if it was a new one or a refurb. So I was wondering if any of you remember the shipping weight of your new or refurb? Mine says 3lbs. which seems a little hefty for just being a refurb... Oh, also, it says it's coming all the way from Canada(if that makes any difference!).

Re: Shipping weight of a new BB Tour

3 lbs. is probably a NIB unit. A refurb will weigh in less than 1 lb.

Re: Shipping weight of a new BB Tour

Sounds like its being direct shipped from factory. Canada and Mexico are the build factories. Which, if that's the case is probably NIB.

Re: Shipping weight of a new BB Tour

Since it's an advance exchange, how do I go about sending my TP back? Do they already include the return ship form and box? Also, do I still keep the accessories, battery, door, etc.?

Re: Shipping weight of a new BB Tour

Yep, there will be a shipping envelope in your box. There will also be a printed instruction sheet. If I remember correctly I shipped the phone, no battery, no door when I exchanged my son's Curve.

Re: Shipping weight of a new BB Tour

I did get a New in box BB Tour I like it much better than my TP, except I've had a lot of freezing issues.

Re: Shipping weight of a new BB Tour

did you pull the battery? I also did a complete wipe of my phone before installing and/or setting up. Download the desktop manager 5... backup device. search for and download BBSAK (Black Berry Swiss Army Knife) from rimgeeks.com and use that to wipe/reset your phone. Go to verizon site and download the BB OS software, it will be an EXE. run that and it installs on your pc... via desktop manager reload the OS to your phone then set your apps up. You have a nice clean phone this way.

Re: Shipping weight of a new BB Tour

I may try that in the future, but I'm a little scared to mess with this phone...
