Re: EVDO and WiFi on the HERO

very normal, phones are not able to use wifi signals as internet and keep the traditional data connection of evdo alive... u would have to either use one or the other... as far as picture mail is concerned, im not seeing y u would not be able to send and receive it because u still have a data connection, just not evdo... i could be wrong, but hey if i had evdo instead of 1x, i wouldnt use wifi until i was in a crap signal area and had access to wifi...

i guess what i should have asked is can you have both the wifi and sprint network active at the same time. when wifi is one the sprint network is off and visa versa. is this normal? or do i have a defective hero?

Re: EVDO and WiFi on the HERO

answered like above, the answer is when wifi is on, the data connection from the sprint network is interrupted. phone calls will come thru as normal, but wifi will do ur data if active. All this is normal, not a defect on your hero.

well i believe so, but ur MMS settings maybe set to go to send and receive ur pics thru the sprint network, so it wont use ur wifi to send or receive pics, but as soon as u turn it of, it should go thru. texts work fine while on wifi though.
