Re: HTC Hero questions

how about putting a ringer on a catagory? i dont want to have to go through each category and give each person the rintone and then do it with a different category and ringtone.

Re: HTC Hero questions

EMAIL questions:

1. How do I keep a copy of a message on the server, and ONLY delete from the handset?

2. Why did my hero create a new set of folders for my gmail account? (I have a new set now labeled: Imap/sent, imap/trash etc.

1. after setting up your email, open that particular email account hit menu/more/settings/send & receive/delete mail on servings, by default it should be in the off position.

2. I think the gamil thing is a default thing...? It did it to me as well.

Hope this helps...

BTW, I am looking for an app that will play my wmv movies I have ripped to my SDcard on my old TP. thanks-br

Weird, once I get into "send & receive", I only have 4 options: 1. mail size limit, 2. set download frequency, 3. download options, and 4. reply with original text.

Am I missing something.

Maybe I'll try and set my gmail up as POP.

Yes do that, then also power down your phone and restart. I had to do that a couple times. peace-br

Re: HTC Hero questions

Thanks. So it was configuring the gmail account as POP (versus imap). Now that I read up on it, it makes sense.

Configuring email as POP allows you to keep a copy of emails on the server.
