Got my HTC Hero... Feel like I am missing something??

First off, I am a huge huge HTC fan.... Had the mogul, Touch/Vogue, Diamond, Touch Pro, now the Hero... But, to be honest, I felt somewhat let down when I opened the box.

Anyone who has owned any of the aforementioned HTC Models might know what I am talking about. They each came with a cool phone holster (wasnt a big fan of the velcro on the touch pro and diamond, lol), A pre-cut screen protector that was made specifically for the screen, and stereo ear buds. Yes, I have probably 12 pairs of stereo earbuds, lol... Just feel a little let down (solely on the packaging/accessories...). This phone comes with phone, USB charger, and a 2gb micro sd card. (and the battery... lol)

The phone, itself, however... In a word, AWESOME! I love it. I have downloaded so many apps, and look forward to more fun apps in the future. The Phone is sick, and I am glad I switched over from my Touch Pro to this

I agree, when I got my mogul it came with a bunch of extras. where are the extras HTC?

The only conclusion I can come to is that sprint wanted to get it out to customers as cheap as possible. I was a bit disappointed myself but I have never used the oem buds before but it would've been nice. Phone makes up for everything that is not included in the box. No complaints here!

I cant find my vogue/touch holster, but I think that would make a good fit? lol... I used my mogul holster on my touch pro and diamond. It was kinda loose, but got the job done.

Yeah thought the same thing about the packaging. I am catching hell about leaving the TP2 for the Hero...lol I just dont need WinMo anymore. I absolutely LOVE this phone so far!!!! And I am not missing the TP2, I do miss some of the winmo features, but not enough to even think about going back...

Edit: I have a retarded left ear, so those stock earbuds dont fit me anyway...lol... I have to use bluetooth.

i have enough headphone sets from all my previous generation HTC devices. i guess those bastards knew that us niche users would, and therefore intentionally left it out for the sake of the almighty profit. but gawd damn it...a friggin case would have been nice.

as consolation though, best buy did offer me some kinda 20% off accessories for the hero...that is, whenever these so called accosries arrives! its a nice gesture by bestbuy's standards, but being a premier custome, i think i am eligible for 25% discount on accesories bought in sprint store. have to double check on actual amount.

so, yes..FYI all u sprint premier customers, make sure u take advantage of the discount whenever shopping at 'official' sprint stores. it may not be much, but it does help.

i was kinda shocked that the phone didnt come with a screen protector. i searched the box and even searched inside all the paper and books it came with thinking that it somehow was hiding from me. thats one thing i loved about my htc touch (i can take the screen protector off and its almost in mint condition). wheres my screen protector for this model htc!!!!

i put a screenprotector film i got at walmart, nothing fancy but there 7bux for 5 sheets of film. 2 protectors from each sheet. dont slow or effect your screentaps either.
