How to sync iPhone's calendar w/ PC's Outlook?

Before I go buy an iPhone, I'd like to make sure that syncing its calendar to my PC's Outlook is going to be easy/simple/convenient. Can anyone vouch for that, and how it works? Or do you have any advice for an easy alternative? I've heard of MobileMe (though I admit I'm not sure what it is) - and I'd rather not pay $100 just to be able to sync to something (Outlook) which I've paid for as well. Is there a better calendar program out there that would work easier?

Please advise.

Yes you can sync your calendar to outlook with itunes and it works quite well

I just use google sync to sync my contacts, calendar and email. Works likes a charm. Outlook sync good through itunes though. Just select it in the settings.

both methods are good, really these two are the better options in my mind over some of the other ones.

how do you go about syncing Outlook contacts with an Iphone ?
I just replaced my HTC Titan with an Iphone and need to move my contacts over.
How do you delete contacts on an Iphone...the store tried to move my contacts over but didn't do a very good job...

What settings do you select to sync Outlook with itunes ?

open itunes and click on your iphone. then select the information tab. Contacts should be at the top of the page
