Changing registry values

Im using TotalCommander to try and do some of the tweaks at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=2036 but the value does not stick. Is the registry blocked off from modification somehow?

Re: Changing registry values

Same here, please help! I was able to modify the startup animation and have that stick, but when I try to do the ICS fix reg edits it will not stick after reboots.

Re: Changing registry values

Hi, i think i've got a solution for this on the Sprint Snap. first of all, i'm using PHM Registry editor smartphone edition. google for this cab: regedit.Stngr_ARM.CAB

second of all, here's how to re-provision the security on the snap so you can edit the registry.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

install, and then install the tools.cab on your phone from the install directory, run the security configuration manager and connect your phone to your PC, then provision "security off", seems to work so far, and the values stick after a power cycle.

HOWEVER, here's the strange part. the rest of the registry tweaks seem to stick except for the ForceCellConnection value. Sprint must have installed some kind of start up script that checks for that particular key and replaces it if it's missing. is that possible?

i have done the above and it has resolved my issues of overwriting system files and registry settings. just make sure you follow each and every step in the correct order.

Re: Changing registry values

Yep, PHM is better than Total Commander for Reg Edits. IMO
