Re: Remote Destop

What do you need to know? I can help you.

First, you need to open a port on your router. Have you done this?

Nothing personal, but the first thing he needs to do is determine which version of Windows he is running. Then, we'll know if he has to install client software or not. Also, does he have a static IP? Dynamic? Open a port to where? How does he access it from the net?

But, you go ahead.

Re: Remote Destop

Vthoma11,

Play with it going from PC/Laptop to PC/Laptop first. Then do it on your phone.

Remote Desktop is cool. At work I use logmein to get to home PC.

PC to Linux I use FreeNX. VNC is terrible.

So many possibilities.

Have you started yet?

Re: Remote Destop

I have set mine up between my treo pro and a windows xp pro machine and can walk you through the entire thing from establishing the VPN, through modifying the epst on your handset so that it only uses the public ip rather than the mip that it will revert to after the vpn is established and your try the remote desktop connection
