Possible D/L booster tweak

I tried it on my Treo Pro. my D/L speed went from 331kbps to 1339kbps. i havent noticed a difference in the web browsing speeds and i havent tried to D/L a large file yet to test it out, and i havent noticed any side-effects yet either.

the question is why were you only getting 331 to begin with?

tower congestion is all i can come up with, i was at the busiest place in town during the busiest time of the day when i did the test

I was reading the thread that was posted in this one, and not sure if it will work for me since the Shreveport, LA area does not have EVDO

yeah, i dont think it would help there, this tweak just widens the hole for EVDO, on 1xRtt, ur just droppin a penny down the well

I'll just re-post what I said in that original thread:

These are actually pretty standard "tweaks" the TCP stack on WM that have been around for years.

Nice to have it consolidated with a simple program, but if you use SKTools, Schaaps or change the registry manually/custom ROMs, you'll have the same results. BTW, hese are not so much "EvDO tweaks" as TCP stack ones, which is basically controlling how much info the system asks for and how much it attempts to swallow in a request--so it's actually neutral on the connection type (BT, Wifi, 1x, Ev). These tweaks are commonly done on PCs too.

In fact, when I ran this app I had all of those settings already on my Treo Pro, except for "time stamps off", which I'm not holding my breath will have much of an effect That's because they were changed in SKtools beforehand.

And yes, these are universal, so they will work on any WM device either GSM or CDMA.

This seemed to slow my connection as well...my speed went from ~900kbps to 400kbps. My RWIN was 415030 previously. I used mobilespeedtest.com 3 runs before after and after reverting.
