New Omnia, Screen response is horrible

Any way to fix this? Worse touch screen I have ever used if this is how it is. I have recalibrated it multiple times and it is the same result.
Sometimes a light touch works, others you have to press really hard...sometimes it doesnt even work heh.
Btw it is the verizion i910 if that matters.

Thanks.

Re: New Omnia, Screen response is horrible

that happened to me once before... but it's not how it's supposed to be, you should NEVER have to press hard on the screen.

I sounds to me like a program (or several) running in the background is lagging up your processor.

Have you looked in Task manager to see what's running?

Re: New Omnia, Screen response is horrible

do u have a reg editor?
its reg a edit that will make it ULTRA sensitive!
also dont forget this is a resistive screen...it needs pressure.
not just a light tap.
i find that my finger nail works best!
since i cut my finger nails i use the back of my finger...if you know what i mean.
if you want to do the edit it is..

43. How to improve screen calibration

HKLM/Hardware/Devicemap/Touch/CalibrationData

Value Data change to > 519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872

Try & see if the above improves the screen calibration

I didn't use the reg hack but I heard it works....I calibrated my screen with my stylus, but don't put any pressure on the screen when calibrating, instead hold the stylus lightly over the center crosshair with the phone on a flat surface and wait (usually 2 or 3 seconds) if it doesnt recognize it press down a little bit but very lightly...the tips and tricks thread up above has more detail instructions...

Re: New Omnia, Screen response is horrible

I've not needed to do it but I read once that using a toothpick rather than the stylus when calibrating provided better results. ???

Re: New Omnia, Screen response is horrible

Very much so. Coupled with the light tap and hold method of calibrating...it works great.

Re: New Omnia, Screen response is horrible

dont forget to place on flat surface and dont use a pin...or you`ll have a leaky screen
