how can i keep phone with Sprint? Still in 30 day return period..

Alright so see if you can keep up...

I recently went to best buy and purchased a touch for $199.99 to add another line to my account. I had to change my plan and i was going to give my girlfriends brother my old phone for his birthday.

Well turns out his parents got him a phone for his birthday too, so after using the touch pro for a week or so i've really fell in love.

My contract is up in like 4 -5 months and i was wondering if anybody knows if sprint would let me keep it at the $199 i paid if i renew my agreement.

I wanna keep the phone but im still within the 30 days to return it so i can still do so. Or if anybody knows any way they think i might be able to keep it i would much appreciate it, ive already changed the phone lines so the number is registered under my old phone. Will they just let me cancel the 2nd line if i call them? I have insurance on the phone and i thought about "accidentally" loosing it and just pay the 50 bucks, but not sure how those systems work so it's kinda hard to decide what to do.

Thanks for the help!

I would wait 30 days and switch it with a cheapie ebay phone, or just cancel it and get it yourself

"Accidently losing" the phone will result in the ESN being locked out when you report it as such. You won't be able to just casually activate it on your old line without doing some lengthy explaining.

Yeah but i could always just do the activation myself as long as it works the same on the touch pro as it did on the mogul

Umm... activation takes place on Sprint's end too. What you're talking about is programming, which is completely useless if Sprint won't activate the phone.
