Can the Omnia run Google Android? If so, how could I make this happen?

Re: Running Android
yes, it can, but not at the moment afaik. The linux kernel has to be compiled for the omnia, and then android has to be compiled, and then the drivers and such. a long process. If i had an omnia then i would get to work on it, but i have no way to test it yet.

Re: Running Android
Angel, how can I get at the firmware on my Omnia? If I can back up and later reload what is on there now, I have no problem compiling the kernel and android and putting it on my phone.
I'm an old hand at Linux, but new to the PPC world. Thanks, Brad |

Re: Running Android
well the way that android is runnin on the htc devices is with a loader titled haret. google it, that should give you some more info on it. And the kernel would be compiled on your linux workstation afaik, not on the device, i cant immagine how long it would take to compile on our device hehe
