Cant download newest Sprint update from Vista Computer...

Hey guys. I'm trying to do this new update I noticed for the Sprint Q but when I start going through the installer, it says it requires at least Windows 2000 SP1 or Windows XP SP2. My system does not meet the requirements.

Also from the software CD, I tried installing Activesync and it says that I cant. I've had the Q for a while and have used it on my XP computer at work, but i'm just now trying it on my home computer and i'm getting no luck. Anyone got any info i'd appreciate it!

With the Q update you will have to do it on a XP machine. So ask a friend or family member if you can use their machine.

As for AS, on Vista it is now called Mobile Device Center. You can download it here:

Hey budney Thanks for everything. On my computer, I have something under Accessories named Sync Center. Is this the same thing or does this have nothing to do with Active Sync?

Oh and have you downloaded the update? If so, what exactly did it improve/fix? And is it something that's 100% necessary to have or no?

I have no idea what sync center is, or how the Mobile Device Center works as I still am running XP.

I have done the update, and haven't noticed any major differences in the way my Q works. Mal posted the fixes in this sticky:
