verizon 6800

i know we've heard a lot about the sprint supposed release date (may 14) but does anyone in the know have ideas when verizon will be releasing their version? i'm assuming that it will have the exact same specs as the sprint version, which excites me... but will it have wm 6 or 5 and will it be upgradeable to evdo rev a??? finally, being a treo 650 user, what drawbacks do you see for someone going from a palm os to wm os?? anything that is a plus?? i used to have a toshiba e755 and the ppc software sucked. the thing crashed constantly. any imput would be greatly appreciated!!!

Well, historically, Verizon drops their phones about a month after Sprint does... so I'd probably expect June for Verizon, assuming that Sprint sticks to the unofficial May 15ish date.

When we demo'd the VZW 6800 we were told it would be July... Ugh... The demo model did have WM6. The release is supposed to be WM6 and upgradeable to RevA shortly after launch... which sucks cuz we already have RevA towers in my area... They also said it would support SDHC. Which is good as we have the 4GB SDHC Micro with mini and standard adapters in inventory now... Hopefully the july date was giving some leadway and we launch it sooner...

You demoed the 6800 from Verizon? How in the world did you get to do that?

I would like to get the phone sooner but July isn't that far away. Thanks for the news.

I work for VZW. The data champions from our area spent a day @ the facility in Irvine learning about the new data products. The XV6800, the XV5800(aka Libra smartphone), the cyclone blackberry (global 8830), ect...
