battery status incorrect
I am having a problem with the battery status on my Treo 800W. It doesn't seem to be reading the battery level correctly. It always says 83%.
It says it after it has charged a full day (with radio off) and it says it just before the battery dies. I am pretty sure its the phone because it happens for two different batteries, both of which work (and charge up to 100%) fine in my Treo Centro. I have tried a hard reset and I still am getting the same problem. Anyone have thoughts? Thanks, dave

Sounds to me like you might have a bad 800w have you tried taking it to a Sprint store for service?

I have been noticing that, too. My battery status simply does not reflect correctly... So it's time for a swap?

Mine seem to display 93% shortly after I remove it from the charger with a green light.

I have the same issue. My phone shows green LED and 89% battery full.
Really annoying.

Some of that is that is the internal battery management system. Lithium batteries should not be "topped off," afaik. It can hurt the battery in the long run. I don't know why that would be triggered at 89%, though.

I just noticed the same batter issue on my phone today.
I have a treo centro desktop dual charger / cradle. I took the fully charged battery off the charger and placed into my phone, after it powered back on i was trying to tab on time displayed over the top of the screen and next the battery. I hit the battery by mistake and noticed it was stating it was at 90% I then plugged the phone directly to the OEM home charger and then it fully charged to 100% I have an extra treo centro battery charging and I'm going to see if its a battery or charger issue. I'm going to use my treo centro phone to identify what is going on...bad battery...bad charger...or bad treo 800 read out!

It's my phone for sure...i've tried the test on different centro phones and with other batteries..
