Motorola Q9c Update

I just bought a Q9c from Alltel and I have started hearing about an update to Windows Mobile 6.1. My first question is:

How do I tell if I have this update?
I have went to the about screen in my phone and it says:
Windows Mobile 6 Standard
Nothing about 6.1

Can my phone get this update being that is alltel?
I have only heard of the update for Sprint Phones
