Hard Resetting the 800w

I already wanted to hard reset my device and tried using the usual method of the power button/battery removal. To my suprise, this didn't work like the 700wx where it immediately came up with the question of erasing all data.

Instead, you had to hold the power button half way through the palm logo startup screen, then it finally asks to erase all data.....

Yep, it's in the manual. Is there a problem?
