Where do you get that chip from? Is there a DIY write-up on how to replace it? Thanks

Re: Apache WM6.1 19209 XIP (Support 128M RAM)

128MB upgrade in general is not for everyone. Removing and soldering of new memory chip requires lot of knowlege and proper tooling. The 128MB XIP allows the O/S to utilize memory beyond 64MB. This XIP however is backward compatible with 64MB.

The 19209 XIP works well with 19209 SYS. I flashed it on my phone for a few weeks now. It's newer and also officially released. 19701 XIP is also released. I'll give it a try once I get my hand on the 19701 SYS.

The 19701 SYS was put on the PPCGeeks FTP also.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ighlight=19701
Just replce the same files in SYS folder with these files.
The .ROM and metadata folder need not be replaced.

Ok, it all sounds good so but how do we tell what we have already and what does the 19209 XIP do for us if we only have 64mb ? and the 19701 if we only have 64mb ? Suppose we are able to upgrade the memory, will the phone run any faster than it is currently running (faster than overclocked with "Performance" utility) ? Speed seems to be the only issue that I have with the XV-6700, not memory....
