USB modem driver problem

I am probably in the wrong forum and I could not find a relavant thread so here goes:

I downloaded and installed the USB Modem driver from another thread (can't remeber which) and I was able to use the i760 as a tethered modem without having to pay verizon. It also works quite well with BT. I have no problems using it with Vista and it works as expected.

I attempted to set it up for my boss who also has an i760 but is connecting with XP and it worked!

However when I disconnected the modem and then reconnected the modem I get an error and I have to remove and reinstall the driver to get it to connect again.

Now while this is not a big deal for me to do, my boss found it to complicated and I would think there has to be a better way.

Anyone have any thoughts or if you know of another thread that would be good too.
