Why can't we just use the Titan radio on the Vogue in order to enable Rev A??

I was thinking about this today... if Titan users can use a Vogue radio on their handset, what is to stop us from using their radio on ours? We have the same chipset, the Vogue has more RAM...

Honestly, I don't see why we couldn't just flash the entire Titan ROM to our Vogues to enable everything. The only issue I see is the fact we don't have wifi on the Vogue... but I don't think that would cause issues unless someone tried to manually turn on Wifi with the connection manager? The fact that we have more RAM shouldn't make a difference except in the fact that their ROM should run faster on our devices by default and I believe the ROM storage partition is set up the same as well, no?

Can someone who knows more about all of this shine some light on it? I would think at the least we could use their radio since they can use ours.

As of last report, this new radio ROM also requires the new bootloader it came with, which can not be installed on the Vogue. Not yet at least, but they are trying.

Ah, I forgot about the new bootloader.

That shouldn't take *too* much to work around though so here's to hoping it happens soon

I'm liking the ROM on my Mogul... but I really am getting annoyed with all the out of memory errors again... its so sad that HTC crippled this device with 64MB of RAM. *sigh*

Not only the Rev A, but what about the GPS and WiFi? I know I know I know, the Vogue doesn't have it. So they say. Anyone actually cracked open their Vogue to SEE if there's no GPS/WiFi antenna in there?

The MSM 7500 chipset doesn't call for a WiFI chip to be installed only the interface for the wifi chip. Looking at the FCC photos the Vogue definitely has one chip less and no wifi antenna as compared to the Mogul FCC photos.

Why would HTC put the chip in and not charge you for it. Remember the Touch is $50 less than the Mogul even though it has twice the ram so you know something besides the keyboard needs to be missing.

Right, but the GPSone chipset (same one thats in the Mogul) is actually built into the MSM7500. What'd they do, rip that out too? Along with our poor video drivers? We've been skr3w3d.

I still don't see why using the radio wouldn't work.

That's fine if the ROM doesn't... but you mean to tell me that this radio requires a special bootloader to install? Sounds inherently wrong... unless they added that at the last minute after people on XDA figured out they can use our radios on their Titans.

It may say no radio but use your phone anyway ...... I am using the radio without a problem I think ? I flashed it when it came out and so far I have not had any problems my internet speed seems to be faster but that could be wishful thinking.. haven't drop a call yet who knows it just might be working.

Hi Jak,
Have you had a chance to start working on the rom. I started but stopped to wait on the bootloader. If you think the radio is working I will continue stripping the gps out of the rom.
