Who's having problems not recieving calls and just getting voicemails?

I'm about to buy a Touch tomorrow and I have been reading quite a bit about the Touch tonight on this and sprintusers forum. I have seen numerous people say they have had problems with the phone not ringing and only hearing the voice mail come. I see most people have said it may have to do with some registry hacks or 3rd party apps.

Who doesn't have this problem and what have you done to your phone as far as registry hacks and 3rd party apps?

This really doesn't make me feel positive about this purchase.

I had a missed call this morning...of course I was in the shower. :-p

But seriously, I have had one or two voicemails come without a call, but I've had that problem with every other phone I've ever had (even dumb phones). Most of those instances are caused by the network signal being too weak for the exact moment someone calls you, not the phone.

I have never had that problem with my Sanyo 8400. Well as far as I know. I've never had someone tell me I missed their call.

Maybe it's just the location these people are in. I just can't miss calls. If signal is weak or I'm out of coverage I understand.

I'm talking about someone calling me and my phone going to voice mail because my phone never physically rang.

Short of when I set my phone on EVDO-only for testing purposes, no I haven't had this problem. In fact, I've never had that problem on Sprint period.

I'm beginning to think it's just the people that have messed around with the registry and have a but load of 3rd party apps.

That's a possibility as well. But i would think these people talking about missing calls would have had similar problems with other phones

I had problems with missing calls on my 6700 (radio randomly shut itself off) but I've never had an issue with the Touch.

Now I HAVE heard, however, that when your battery gets below 30%, it won't ring anymore and you won't receive texts or anything until you manually turn the screen back on. I don't ever let mine get that low since I charge it every night.
