Safari for Windows Mobile...

Well, its not really safari, but a new browser based on the same technology as safari, called WebKit is staging to hit the scene. Its being called WAKE3 from the name of the group thats creating it, and the video demo is shows some great promise in true-to-net rendering of webpages.

http://www.youtube.com/v/OWhSaKyFI-Q&rel=1 <Warning: Loud annoying Background music.>

With Firefox prepping to release firefox 3, the next version of Minimo - Codenamed "Firefox for Mobile" also promises to support AJAX which will bring many new features into your browsing experience.

Personally, I cant wait until either hits the net so I can give them a shot. Wake3 looks VERY promising (and will probably allow us Trillian users to hit Trillians Astra for Iphone site since its similar browser technology as Safari)

Looks pretty much like pocket IE set to view as Desktop instead of single column. Maybe it has better support for current internet protocols, but it doesn't seem that revolutionary. I'd rather see more finger friendly pan and zoom features (like Picsel) being developed.

The idea sounds great but, that video was a horrible advertisement for its capabilities. Like the last comment, it just looked like ie in desktop to me. I get what they were trying to get at though.

What a horrible advertisment for the features of the program. So far it looks like it doesn't support Tabs nor screen grab. I would love to see a decent browser like Safari with the zoom in abilities, (Opera Mini 4 does this) and the upcoming Opera 9 is going to have this as well.

But these folks need new marketing people
