At any rate the Nexus One is an awesome phone. Do they have them to demo at a T-Mobile store?
Unfortunately its not in stores yet.

Why is engadget lying like that. My 3g hasn't had any problems since day 1. That's a lot of hate coming off that website. It must be owned by a winmo user : ) any rate how would it be possible for specific devices 3g to go down and not the network, sounds fishy to me.

I read it was more a firmware problem.

I never had the 3g issue either.. it got better reception than my pro did.... My new place I get horrible signal on my nexus and tp, but the tp being the worst on reception....... So don't worry about the 3g problem if ya wanna try it out....... Its not a problem for me.......

ANYWAYS y'all crazy winmo die hard fans... I used to hate anyone that had anything other than winmo and I didn't wannna except something could be better, but. Breakmyfoot changed my mind and I had to try for myself...... Must say, winmo is drastically behind, I still don't like to believe it, but its a sad n true fact.......

it's been my observation that even with almost the same hardware (hero vs tp2) the android wins in web browsing. even with my tp2 on wifi and the hero on 3g the hero beats the heck out of my tp2. with a light web page you won't notice a difference, but if you go to a page loaded with graphics ( engadget.com for example) it takes for ever for the page to load. i have not yet once had the patience to wait for the page to load on my tp2. and forget skyfire - blurred garbage isn't worth the speed.

i love the tp2 but after all the years of head start why hasn't winmo come up with a browser that can even keep up with the new kids? my 2 year old ipod touch is even faster than the hero and tp2.

i've got 8 days left to make my decision to keep the tp2 or switch. for anything other than web browsing and ebook reading (stanza on the ipod touch blows any winmo ereader away) the tp2 is wonderful... but the main thing i like to do is browse the web and read books...

hmmm, maybe i bought the wrong device.

I was the same way but seeing videos of how fast the web browser is compared to the tp2 started to change my mind. Than lately I kept having issues with the TP2 constantly lagging and I had to constantly soft reset the phone finally did it in for me. I hope that Nexus One is as cool as you say.

Very true.... comparing pineapples to grapes

I like how people are trying to compare the tp2 and the nexus..... now if say they had similiar specs that would be a different story... say a HD2 us spec vs the nexus one would be a interesting match up. I'd have to say that android is a bit quicker based on a side to side test of the HD2 euro version and nexus one.

Wirelessly posted (Sprint/1.0/HTC_Touch_Pro2_T7380 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))

I find that web browsing speed is highly overated. I came from a motorola q9c and i'll say that even that phone was fast for browsing. who rally bookmarks non mobile sites? i have an iphone, which I consider one of the best mobile browsers, and I stick with mobile sites at all costs.

the nexus one cant possibly be much faster than my tp2 on this site.

another thing is that all of my bookmarks happen to have a mobile version, so while a fast browsing demo is nice, it doesnt mean too much.

another reason why I need wm, is for the calendar and contacts. i've read you can do that with droids but no thanks for the experiment.

I wish wm were blazin fast, but I'm kinda stuck on wm with no alternatives. not really digging the nexus one's keyboard.
