Question Wi-fi, GPS...

No mention of either in the Sprint lit... Damn it if Sprint pulled these I might go to the Tilt on ATT

Probably won't have either GPS or Wi-fi because the Telus version doesn't have either, but who knows, we may be in for surprise.

I wouldn't count on it though, Sprint's been doing horribly since the merger with Nextel and I think they want to squeeze every penny out of their customers for services like data plans and navigation.

The most upsetting part of this though, is that the Touch (Vogue) was initially released with specifications stating wifi and internal gps capable. I just checked pdadb.net for the specs again and they've changed. I no longer see gps or wifi capabilities.

Once again, the consumer might end up having to settle for less.

This thing has Wi-Fi on Sprint

http://reviews.cnet.com/smart-phones...tag=prod.txt.1

However I was watching the video review of this on CNET and it looks like the TouchFlow doesn't "flow" too well. It looks a bit jerky on the video, and the cube background looks pretty horrible. Hopefully sprint will make the interface a bit more attractive ( and I hope that doesn't mean pasting yellow all over everything ).

I am seriously thinking of skipping the mogul and going straight to this, but I am not too motivated to drop another 3 to 4 bills on a phone that comes up short on the UI.

probably because youre watching the one for GSM with half the processor speed and memory you should watch this video, the Sprint Touch (HTC VOGUE) has double the processor and memory of the GSM Touch. Maybe you should look up your info first....

heres a video of it.

Wow seems cnet has the sprint touch and is saying it will have wifi. Wierd cause they actually show the correct picture as well. I just doent know what to belive anymore. On the upside I ahve gotten fast on the touchpal keyboard so maybe I will get the touch. Depends on how much it will cost me. I like the look and I think it will feel better in the hand compared to my Mogul. Also haveing less moving parts seems to be better in having less hardware issues.

HchristianS,

I did look into my info, if you check the link I provided it specifically stated that it was for Sprint. So question is do we believe CNET or do we believe Gizmodo? I guess we will both have to wait a little longer to find out.

From another perspective though it is pretty obvious that HTC is going after the iphone in terms of design and the iPhone has Wi-Fi, the GSM version of the touch has Wi-Fi so if this is meant to compete with the iPhone at least on some level why would it not have Wi-Fi, and why would Sprint skimp/ or create extra work to disable/ not have Wi-Fi on their version. Especially since the GSM model does have it. That would seem like brand suicide for Sprint. Also I don't think that Sprint has had a Pocket PC without Wi-Fi since the 6600...why revert now?

I am concerned about the lack of mention of WiFi in ANY of the press releases. I use WiFi at work all day on my 6700....No WiFi, I'd probably pass on the Touch and get a Mogul. I will find out one way or the other, 'cause I'd rather have the Touch.
