I can still watch all my movies, get more apps to better music locations and downloads, and the touch flo is SICK smooth! The whole device just feels better in the palm of my hand. There is onw thing I miss about the TP2 though, not enough people in the Hero forum...? Kinda lonely in there... peace-br

and Muff, I won't be back bro, but I will be thinking of you!
i know the ui is amazing is on that phone..back when i was one tmobile two weeks ago i had a mytouch and i flashed the hero rom onto it and it worked awsome, especially with all the optimizations that the devs made like mixing things from other android phones like the cliq..but htc sense on the hero is just amazing..but then i went to sprint and got the touch pro 2 and i love it..its great with all the the customizations you can make..i dont think any other os allows users to change the homescreen so much like winmo..like with point ui with pointsense..all the hero widgets are there...and the screen and keyboard on the touch pro 2 is amazing

the hero was pretty much like the mytouch with more ram..to me the screen was a little small although i got pretty fast typing with my fat thumbs..but i do truely miss the capacitive touch screen..and the apps on android to..oh man so many of them but sadly the games werent that great..android is way behind in gaming...all the gba snes etc emulators are there but no psx emulator..and theres only like 3 3d games on the market..and since the hero is the only android device with multitouch..no apps have been made yet that have multitouch capabilities..which makes the emulator controls a pain in the ***...

but for you since your a dj its pretty awsome..theres this mixer app on there and a turntable app..and i think a beatbox app on there that fun to use..and for me since i play guitar..the guitar tuner on the market worked wonders..

so pretty much the hero is a great device with and with htc's sense ui on android.its an amazing phone..but it sucks on gaming ..oh and if you want to make it faster you can always overclock it..theres an app called setcpu that lets you overclock..oh and swapper..it transfers memory that isnt being used into a swapfile on the sdcard...wait nvm lol those both require root..which im pretty sure is gonna be acheived very sooon

EDIT: I hope the unlocker comes out tomorrow
Hate to break it to you bud, but Android really is that much better than Windows Mobile. Not even joking.

That's a matter of opinion, not fact...

Partially true. Experience-wise, i'd agree with you. Functionality-wise, it actually uses code written for phones made this century. It's faster, addresses the little things like sluggishness and jerkiness, and is completely open source.

matter of opinion. We have a hero a touch pro 2 a palm pre and an instinct HD basically a nice flavor of all the current o/s's and each have thier advantages and disadvantages but I will stick with windows mobile. I dont have to root my windows mobile device to install programs not on the stupid store +1 there but its all a matter of opnion. If windows mobile was so bad ud think it would be gone by now.. makes you wonder...

Microsoft literally buys market share for Windows Mobile with exclusivity to devices. And there's the fact that Active Directory and Exchange still dominate the desktop market.

Fair enough, I do realize that the code for WinMo is rather old. Hopefully they are revamping for 7. However, as an owner of a Diamond, Palm Pre, and an iPhone 3G, I can say from experience that each of these phones lags at some point or another. Granted I have never had to shut down my Pre due to issues with performance or freezing, it does lag severely at times. The converse is true with the iPhone. I have had to shut it down a couple of times due to performance issues and on occasion it just hangs, seemingly forever while it finishes whatever its doing.

Re: Goodbye my TP2 Friends!

I have a pre and my gurl a hero.. I've had the touch/mogul/diamond/apache/pro.. What I'm not understanding is why are we being hateful towards anything unrelated to windows mobile?? Everyone is saying that the hero is slow(which its not) but if your using windows, there's no way you can be calling anything slow. Also how can you say that the screen is too small when most pro2 owners all had phones with screens under 3".. On top of that I don't if anyone has realized that the keyboards we were using on the pro/diamond were improved upon for the pro2/diamond2/hero.. And most were taken from the pro2 rom and put in custom roms for our pro's and diamond's.. What I'm trying to say is.. We are/were always talking about others bashing windows and its respective phones and now when someone gives praise to anything other than windows we become hostile.. We need to be more open-minded and practice what we preach..

Re: Goodbye my TP2 Friends!

True, WinMo is THE most customizable device out there. My thing is this, with the Hero, what would you need to customize? I know customizing is something WE jsut love to do, but this Hero is SICK! 7 pages to customize anyway I want. It is FAST, no lag yet. I can get just about any app I want, I can already sync to my outlook contacts, play wmv files, etc... My opinion is that this device could very well be the alleged iPhone killer??? Maybe not, but if you own one, you knwo what I am saying. You can run multiple apps on here, not on iPhone, and I had like 32 apps and programs running with NO LAG!

I love WinMo, but I needed a change! You guys have been great, hope to see some of you over at the Hero Forums! peace-br
