[APP] myPlayer - BBC iPlayer / Hulu / 5OD / MSN / SBS for WM [v1.100 19-Feb-2010]

A light-weight application that provides access to BBC iPlayer, Hulu, Five On Demand, MSN Video and SBS directly - eliminating the requirement for a (flash-enabled) mobile browser.

Requires a QVGA, VGA or WVGA device running Windows Mobile Professional (Pocket PC) 6.0 or higher (see the additional requirements below).

Features:
> Choose your own media player - define how each stream is played (CorePlayer v1.3.6 is recommended‡)
> Full iPlayer integration - browse the Mobile content as you would from any other supported device (including the search feature)
> Browse BBC iPlayer by category (Comedy, Drama, Entertainment, Films, etc.)
> Download high quality BBC iPlayer episodes directly to your device for offline viewing
> Hulu support (beta) - watch a selection of your favourite cartoons
> Watch all the latest football highlights from the Barclays Premier League
> Five On Demand - catch up with the latest content from Channel Five
> MSN Video - a further selection of streaming content to watch
> SBS Australia - content from the Special Broadcasting Service*
> Live TV channels - watch the popular terrestrial channels live (BBC1, ESPN, Sky News, etc.)
> Extensive TV feed index - hundreds of live TV feeds from around the globe
> Live Radio stations - a selection of BBC broadcasts
> Custom TV / Radio stations - add your favourites
> Search History - tracks the most recent searches for easy access
> myPlayer streaming service - preconfigured VLC server to overcome connectivity issues (eg. blocked ports, non-UK region, etc.)

* The SBS channel requires a Flash player, the Adobe Flash Lite application is recommended

Requirements:
> A media player that supports RTSP streaming and the mpeg4 codec (CorePlayer v1.3.6 is recommended‡)
> The .NET 2.0 Compact Framework (which is bundled with Windows Mobile Professional 6.0 and above)
> An internet connection that is UK based (or media server running VLC that resolves a UK address - a preconfigured service is available)

‡ HTC's bundled StreamingPlayer should also work for the BBC iPlayer content on faster devices (for example the HTC HD2)

*** Whilst streaming video this application will use a considerable amount of bandwidth - please ensure you use it via an unlimited data policy ***

User feedback is always appreciated and should help to improve the usability of future releases.

All of the content streamed via this application is copyright of the BBC, Hulu, Channel Five, MSN and SBS respectively.

Disclaimer: you should only watch the BBC iPlayer content if you are owner of a TV licence within the UK.

Latest version: 1.100

For help regarding installation and use of the application please consult the dedicated myPlayer Support page.

Updates:
v1.100
> Added the SBS channel (Australian content)
> Added European Football highlights channel (hosted by SBS)
> New media type: Flash (Adobe Flash Lite player recommended)
> Options and Settings menus are now more finger friendly (VGA)
> Larger info buttons added for VGA devices
> Improved applications response to an screen orientation change
> Removed ITV channel due to lack of compatible content
> Various other minor updates

Figured that out quickly. Is there plans for broader support? Direct Streaming? Its a cool program I guess i dont really see myself using in its currect state as its mostly UK streams now.

There are 539 USA TV streams...surely you can find something. I tried the first release and couldn't get it to play anything, anyone who is actually watching video on this - what media player are you using? I tried to make it use WMP, TCPMP and Kinoma, none of them would play any video. This was from a few days ago though, maybe it's been fixed.

I can't play ANYTHING using this App. It keeps saying something about their server, and if I go to those setting...I have to PAY to use it at all. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

How do I set this up?

Hi folks:
Slightly OT, but HULU now works again in
Skyfire. Been blocked for a while, but it is back.
At least for now.
