I currently have to change my touch pros battery once before i get home to make it through an entire day with mostly texting (prolly 50/day min) push email and almost no talking. If I talk/browse more than a few minutes I will use a good chunk of the second battery before I get home. This is a deciding factor for me so if anybody else has some good feedback please share!

i got the pro about 2 weeks before the pre, it was an insurance claim and thankfully came as new and not refurbed

nope the battery was jsut charged only 2 times on the pro and had 3 charges on the pre and both were allowed to fully charge like they were supposed too

Re: Palm Pre & Touch Pro Face Off

That's just a proof that TP's are messed up. TP's battery is 1340mah while Pre's is 1150mah.

It's not the TP hardware I don't think, it's Windows Mobile (I think)

I have a TP and Pre also, and the Pre's battery life seems a little better IMO.

Yesterday, for example I noticed that while charging the Pre via USB connected to the computer, I was able to stream Pandora for hours via Wifi and it still was charging.

Try doing that on the TP, and ur battery will drain faster than it charges.

Theres been a lot of talk on the TP forum about this. It seems to be the general consensus that the radio firmware sucks and that b/c of the hardware the heat generated while using multiple radios (ie phone on while wifi or bt or all 3 being on) caused the unit to slow the charging process from the full amp to half an amp or not at all. so altho i believe winmo isnt helping anything the hardware (and its associated firmware) isnt the greatest either.

Personally im tired of having to wait for the screen to flip to landscape and then back when im just trying to send a quick response text. I went some time using different on screen keyboards but got tired of that. I mean really, what did I buy the TP for over the diamond. The hardware keyboard! I'm excited to use the pres keyboard, altho its size scares me a little. (I got on my local stores waiting list monday... just waiting for that phone call!)

Unfortunately I cannot compare the two in real world tests since I don't do much with the mogul. The mogul is my work phone and I only use it to answer calls, take notes, and store some spreadsheets. I can go a week before I need to charge the mogul but it's because I maybe use 300 minutes a month and no data. Plus it still has a stock ROM.

Yup. Still love my Pre. I do wish it had a busier "today" screen so I could display stuff like weather, calendar, etc. I do know that there is someone working a on a homebrew for this.

I did not say it's TP's hardware. I said TP in general. Wether the hardware or software.
